What are the basic principles of Sophrology?
-
Sophrology is a holistic therapeutic approach developed in the 1960s by neuropsychiatrist Alfonso Caycedo, combining elements from Eastern philosophies like yoga, Buddhist meditation, and Japanese Zen with Western practices such as hypnosis and psychotherapy. By integrating breathing techniques, visualization, mindfulness, guided meditation, gentle movements, and body awareness, sophrology addresses mental, physical, and emotional challenges in adults, children, and teens. This evidence-based, science-backed modality taps into the brain’s neuroplasticity, helping us reframe our responses to negative emotions. With regular practice, sophrology fosters lasting transformation, resilience, and balance, guiding individuals toward a more fulfilling and harmonious life. Typically practiced over 8 to 12 sessions, we work together to achieve your personal goals and overall well-being.
